Why does everyone wear skater shoes?

Why do people wear skater shoes like dcs and vans, and those ugly converse shoes that go up your shins?





Almost everyone wears skater shoes besides my friends (they wear sports and athletics) and people wear these skate shoes when they don't even skateboard?





How do people get sucked in the media and wear the most expensive and keep changing their fashion. Why is this???

Why does everyone wear skater shoes?
People should be able to wear whatever shoes they want to wear without being labeled. What's the big deal?
Reply:sometimes they end up being more comfortable (vans,etnies,so on) than tennis shoes. i can't speak about converse since i don't wear them.





plus i like black shoes. you can find a variety of styles in black than tennis shoes.





plus they're skating shoes. they have to be durable right? for me they last way longer than any tennis shoes i've ever owned. i have a pair 2 years old and still going strong.
Reply:um i wear what i like. i wear low/high cut converse (but not the ones that go up my skins i don't know where to get them from) , old navy rubber flip flops (most of the time), and new balance running sneakers...once in the 8th grade i bought a pair of vans. after my mom paid for them i started hating them and wouldn't wear them cause they were ugly. so not including those i have never worn skater shoes. most skater shoes aren't ugly, just not my style. but vans are pretty ugly...

Reply:let people wear whatever they want, some people think they have to be in style. I don't care what the style is I wear what is comfy.


If you keep you're things 7 years they come back in style , it is a rat race to get you're money they have to sell . That is how they stay in business.

Reply:actually, i happen 2 LIKE those converse shoes. . . i have a pair of chucks %26amp; a pair of etnies %26amp; some pumas %26amp; some keds. i think u should leave ppl alone. . . i know how 2 sk8board, i used 2 borrow my friend's until i moved. . . ppl here say i dont sk8board, but i do, i just dont own a sk8board. i'm saving up. leave the converse alone! they rock! =) didnt mean 2 offend u if i did. just speakin my mind. . .

Reply:Isn't there like a freedom to wear whatever shoes you want in America? Well, I like Vans but I wear Keds, Flats, Heelys and Ankle Converses.

Reply:Not really. I got Kustom Skater shoes last year from Billabong in the city, and they were on sale from $100 dollars to $15. It was a good deal, I wanted Kustom shoes coz they're a good brand and they were so comfy. Ha, ha now the sole has come off. Farewell trusty shoes, I shall miss you. Now I'm wearing Dunlops because its softball season I need sprinters. Next year I'm getting a really good pair. Practically all the guys in my class wear Skater shoes for one reason: THEY ARE COMFY!!
