Are low cut black sport socks with shorts and black shoes fashionably acceptable for kids?

If they are wearing a dark color shirt. My son is 7.

Are low cut black sport socks with shorts and black shoes fashionably acceptable for kids?
Yes my kids do all the time. We try to match socks when ever possible. I think white socks are OK too. Some people do not like black socks with shorts, but as long as they are not dress socks and they match it looks good.
Reply:Oh, c'mon now. Kids don't have fashion - they wear clothes and get dirty. That's their job. What kind of esthete are you trying to turn him/her into? Put 'em in shorts, a tee shirt, and a grubby old pair of sneaks and send 'em outside, for God's sake.

After several editing on the shoes of the players on the AWAY team, once played, all the visiting team shoes changes don't take effect, instead, the default EA Sports provided is used no matter how many times I edit it.

Women who love shoes: similar to hobby/memorabilia collectors?

Some men often wonder why women are so into shoes.

However, when I hear how some women like to buy vintage shoes, or keep the original boxes, or even organize their shoes by color, style, etc., it really reminds me of devoted collectors of sports memorabilia, comic books, DVDs, music CDs, etc. because they often behave in a similar way too.

As a "geek" collector myself, I like to organize and hunt for stuff too. I can understand how some women can spend hours shopping for shoes, as I can do the same in a DVD or collectible store.

Yes, maybe shoes are different because they have a functional value as clothing...but personally, I've never looked down on women (or even men) who love shoes. If anything I see it as a hobby from which they get a lot of enjoyment, and there's nothing wrong with that. For some people, fashion is a hobby in itself. I'd only be concerned if someone were in debt or spending beyond their budget.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Women who love shoes: similar to hobby/memorabilia collectors?
As a shoe lover, I agree, but hadn't ever stopped to think about it in the way you presented. Well done!

Zappos has lots, I checked for you =] just type in Vans into the seach and look around.

I want to exercise more, but my tennis shoes hurt my feet. What are the best tennis shoes for high arches?

When walking I have pain on the outside of my feet. Not on the inside where my arches are. The pain is so strong on the outside of my feet that I can't enjoy walking. I don't know what brand tennis shoe is the best for women who have high arches. I have three pair of Adidas tennis shoes, all different styles and they all make my feet hurt. I have also worn Nike in the past and they also make my feet hurt. I don't want to spend more money on shoes that hurt my feet when walking or even playing sports. I would love to here any recomendations on other tennis shoes for women with high arches.

I want to exercise more, but my tennis shoes hurt my feet. What are the best tennis shoes for high arches?
You want to find a shoe that has maximum support and motion control. Your problem is that your over pronating. Which means that when you take a step you tend to step with the ouside of your foot. The shoes you have are not offering enough suport for your foot.

When your shoe shopping you want to look at the inside sole of the shoe. There needs to be a lot of grey material on the sole. This grey material is a very hard rubber that helps control the foot as you take a stride and supports it to help remove pain. Asics, Nike and New Balance make a lot. I just recentally bought the Nike Tri-D. I have the same problem as well as a lot of people. Its a common thing.

You can go onto any of the shoes websites and most catrgorize the shoes. You will want to look for "motion control" or over pronation. Heres a list of some of the best:

http://walking.about.com/od/prshoe/tp/sh...
Reply:When I play tennis, I just wear running shoes. I have Avivas.

Sorry I didn't elaborate more. Hope you find shoes that don't hurt your feet!

Suggestion-would Dr. Scholl's gel pads work, or whatever they are?
Reply:My suggestion would be to see if where you live has a store called "Fleet Feet." They are primarily a store for running shoes, but they are also good for other exercise. They carry the same brands as other stores, but the models of the shoes they carry are better, plus they are real experts in what shoes are best and fit best for your activities. And, the prices are pretty much the same as other stores. The staff are all runners -- not shoe salesmen.
Reply:you need better shoes. like walking or cross trainning. new balance has always been good for me, i have high arches. i would say stay away from rebox (sp?) they always caused me to get shin splints. nikes never fit my arch either.
Reply:I have high arches, tend to roll my foot over to the outside, and found that Nikes were great. You may want to see a podiatrist about getting an orthotic. I have one because I walk on the outside of my feet, and it has made all the difference in the world.
Reply:I like New Balance, also. You may need to get additional arch supports. You can get moldable ones that you warm up, then you know they'll fit your feet. My husband uses them--he actually fractured his foot running on an uneven surface w/o proper support. Now he has no problems.
Reply:Look at Asics. They make the best running shoes that will give you great support.

Also, you should NOT be using your walking/running shoes for anything else than just that, running/jogging/walking. They are not day-to-day shoes for everyday use. By using them as everyday shoes, you will ruin the support.

First time running a 10k: tips, info on shoes, recommendations??

I'm 18 and I'm going to run a 10k with my dad in the end of April/begining of May. Any tips or recommendations would be helpful, I'm a first time runner (I ran track for a couple years, but have since gotten busy and out of shape) I've started training and eating stricter, and I have no doubts that I'll be ready for it, but any advice would be great. The biggest thing is I would like to know like what kinds/brands of shoes would be good, I have a pair of Adidas now, but I don't remember what kind they are I think they're just cross-trainers. Reviews? Shoes to buy/stay away from? And what about sports bras? I'm well endowed and need some good ones...Thanks!

First time running a 10k: tips, info on shoes, recommendations??
You should get running shoes that feel comfortable. When you try them on at the store, run in the them there. Doesn't matter what they look like, feeling good running is better. No cross- trainers, they are not real running shoes.

Sports bras, just go to the store and try them on, again run around adn see how they fit and feel.

As for running the race, hopefully you are training with dad. Just keep pace with him. If not, then you should do a few runs together so you are familiar each others running style and pace.
Reply:I have been running for 8 years now. So, generally speaking, this is how I would do it:

I would strengthen the core: calves, quads, hams, back and abdominal (the "six pack" muscles along with th obleks), chest and arms. But when strengthening these muscles, I would focus more on the muscle endurance not the muscle bulk. For more advice for this, I would consult with a personal trainer. For the running part, I would stay flexible as it helps/contributes to your balance (so do the muscles in your core) but also helps prevent some injuries lik pulled muscles and shin splints. Also, I would try to make up a schedule where you can run for X amount of days and try to have a long run. I would start off slowly, running about 2-3 miles per run for the first week and increase my mileage per week. Make sure you have the following: a good diet, hydration, sleep, a good sense on how to take care of your body, and sleep.

Though I am biased towards Nike as a brand, I would recommend you to go to a running-specific store, like Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC. They can help you find the right shoe because people buy shoes that aren't necssarily right for their feet, but more comfortable or fashionable. But after you get the correct shoes or even if you haven't, I would go to any major athletics store and ask the sales associates. Clothing is all about the comfort meaning that whatever fits well, feels good as it naturally falls on you, and how it feels and fits while running. Good luck!!! If you have any more questions, email me (just add @yahoo.com to my user name).
Reply:well im only 17 but ive been running cross country for a few years and come from a long line of top performence breeded runners. so first of all, theres nothing wrong with a six pack however as a distance runner it restrics ur brething making ur heart over work it self so i wouldnt recomend having to much mucial in that area. its good to be sleeping and eating right but make sure to take a recovery day so ur mucial has time to rebuild and catch up with the traning. Adiddas suck no affence to my fellow runners but they are better at sprinter shoe's and they need to stay there the top of the line afortable shoes are asic's. the shoes are ment for the best of runner and serious runner. what you want to do is find a nice running store my store is called road runner they have a machine you walk on that tells ware and how much presure is being added when you take a step,(all these services should be provided free from the store) they will find you shoes and from their you pic out the one that fits best trainers are not ment for distance but if you want speed u need to find a light pair of flats however you want to find a pair with plenty of suport or youll be sorry after the race. the only shoe id tell you to stay away from is cheap shoes ant thing under 50 that is regular price STAY CLEAR OF.... (hence you might find last years models clearenced so you could possibly get a good dill) well im a guy so i cant help you in the bra section but im sure youll find one in a running store tha fills fine good luck with ur race

the best thing to do is to go to the sporting goods store and they will help you find the best shoe for your event

every shoe fits differently and every person has different taste

but you definitely want to get some good spikes for sprinting

and also you might want good running shoes for practicing in

my favorite running brand is asics

they have really comfortable shoes with jell in them

and spikes will really make a difference for racing, but they have no support, so practicing in them is not recommended

Have u ever taken your shoes and socks off to play a sport because most everyone else was playing barefoot?

(Like when you play volleyball, frisbee, croquet, touch football, soccer, or other casual sports with friends on a clean, lush lawn)

If so, why did you do it (comfort, peer pressure, fairness, etc.)?

Have u ever taken your shoes and socks off to play a sport because most everyone else was playing barefoot?
I only take off my shoes when I want to. I love being barefoot so its not a matter of peer pressure for me.
Reply:Volley ball this past summer. I took off my sandals and went barefoot and so did other people. One girl was to chicken to take off her flop flops because the sand was too hot.
Reply:yea... because i felt like it.
Reply:Well... i only do it if it is really hot or i am wearing flip flops and i need to run!!!! Once when i was in Washing D.c. for a week without my parents for a leadership conference, we got an hour break so a bunch of us were playing volleyball in the sand and i had heels on so i took them off... ooooo the great memories!!!!!!!
Reply:I do it always, no matter what anyone else does. I do it because i hate tennis shoes. I own one pair of dress shoes, a pair of sandals, and converse. I am just not fond of shoes.
Reply:Well, I haven't played a sport barefoot, that's when I need my shoes on. I would probably do frisbee, barefoot.

But I'm barefoot for pretty much anything else.

You ask why-- I say I'm a hippy, what do you expect?

Looking for reasonably priced athletic shoes for WIDE feet.?

I'm not in any sports but I do need more exercise. A lot of times, I find myself avoiding walking because I don't have proper shoes. I live in the country with a LOT of beautiful places to walk and even hike (which I LOVE to do) but I need something that will keep my feet and ankles supported and something with a LOT more protection than my fav shoes, flipflops.

My problem is that I have wide feet and I can't find very many shoes in any style that fit. Payless has consistently good prices and has more wides than I can ever find elsewhere but their athletic shoes aren't very serious.

I am willing to pay more for the right shoes but then I get to the dept or sports store and I get discouraged because they are so UGLY and none of them fit.

If it's going to be ugly anyway, I would rather it just be white. And they need to FIT my FAT FOOT.

Why are tennis shoes called tennis shoes?

Tennis shoes can be used for running, volleyball, baseball, and many other sports. But why are sneakers generally called as tennis shoes? Is there a reason it had to be tennis? Just curious.

Why are tennis shoes called tennis shoes?
They were originally the shoes one wore when playing tennis. There weren't always all the high tech designs that are out today.
Reply:tennis shoes cannot be used for baseball or football. Sneakers are not called tennis shoes. Tennis shoes have their seperate entity. Just like basketball shoes volley ball shoes and so forth.

You can ask why are basketball shoes called baseketball shoes if they can be used for tennis, running, volleybay, and golf. They all have shoes for specific sports.
Reply:Everybody used to wear leather shoes and then vinyl shoes and then leather shoes again. Somewhere way- back- when, tennis was not fun to play in leather shoes, so they invented shoes made of canvas with rubber soles.
Reply:I know what you mean by all the different names for casual shoes worn when playing sports. It is confusing isn't it?

I think that the game of tennis was invented by a man named the same and he was the first one to have a tennis shoe made and it kind of went from that point.

Now we have too many high dollar tenny runners in my opinion and when they cost over 300 dollars a pair I would prefer we refer to them as my good shoes, period.
Reply:because they were first invented by sir alfred tennis.

The game was also named after him.

What's the best method to take care of your black leather shoes?

My leather shoes are Ralph Lauren Polo Sport. They have a buckle that holds the shoelaces down. On the tongue it says Leather Upper.

They are not smooth leather like this:

But a rougher leather like this:

http://www.nationalfootwear.com/skechers...

There are wrinkles all over the shoe. It almost looks scaley. My shoes are much identical to this:

I don't care about a shine or mirror shine. I'm just wondering how to keep them in good shape.

I bought these materials:

1.) Kiwi Leather Lotion: http://www.kiwicare.com/US/Products/Leat...

2.) Kiwi Shine Cloths (comes with two): http://www.kiwicare.com/US/Products/Leat...

3.) A non-Kiwi 100% horsehair brush. The area of the bristles are round and about the size of a 50 cent piece.

Sounds like you know already. Just do not wear them out if it might rain or while working at anything. Keep them in a bag at home and out of the way of other shoes, boots etc.

yes I think... go to www.nike.com and go to faq and ask a question
Reply:there are things that you can buy that attach that sensor to shoes other than Nike.
Reply:No you can't. It has to have the special spot underneath the sock liner of your shoe. To check first look on the sole of your shoe it will likely said Nike Plus on it. To check second pull the liner out of the sole of both of your shoes and there will be a very obivous orange foam rectangle in the bottom that you pull out to put in the Nike plus sensor. Chances are if your shoes are two years old they arn't Nike Plus compatable

Soap shoes?

what hardware stores could i buy soap shoes from like examples of scheels, hibbett sports,***** places like those where could i find them at like stores?

Soap shoes?
ill help you . a store in the mall called jerneys sells them but the company that bought out soaps is called heelys. the still have grind plates in the middle plus a wheel in the back. the wheel is removalale so if you wanted you could jus t take out the wheel and volia! soap shoes. (stupid corpate buy outs) btw also try normal stores like sports atourity or... well any sports store.

Heelys are a brand of sneakers that have one or more wheels embedded in each sole. Thus, the wearer can walk, run, or - by shifting their weight to their heels - roll. Advanced Heelys users can perform tricks such as soft braking, which is the process of lowering the front section of rear foot, gently, to increase friction and slow to a stop.

The wheel can easily be removed from the shoe, which may be done for comfort reasons or for reasons of practicality or security. Generally, 'Heeling' is considered a form of skating, and as such may not be used in malls, and other enclosed public spaces. The UK's largest supermarket chain, Tesco has banned the use of the skate wheels on Heelys in all of its stores in response to what it called "isolated customer complaints". HSL publicly recommends that all users of its product wear protective gear to protect from injuries.

The sport has slowly been gaining popularity over time, with two million Heely users in March of 2006. [1]. Once mastered, the shoes are a much more efficient way to get from place to place than walking, and offer a new alternative to bicycles, skates, or other alternate transportation in urban areas.

When worn daily, it typically takes about a week or two to master the shoes. The basics, heeling in a straight line, may take from a few minutes to a few days to learn. More advanced moves, like 360's, 180's, aerial trickery and the like require focus and persistence to attain.

After Heeling Sports Limited purchased Soap on September 25, 2002, HSL started incorporating grind plates into new models of Heelys, increasing the versatility of the shoe and allowing for a new variety of tricks.

What is the most comfortable brand of shoe that I can still play sports in?

I want to buy new shoes tomorrow as my old ones are wearing out. I'm looking for comfort and style, but I also want shoes that I'll be able to wear to gym class or go play tennis in. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

What is the most comfortable brand of shoe that I can still play sports in?
Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Vans, and Converse and very stylish shoes. I recommend Nike, Reebok, and Adidas because they are sports shoes. If you get Nike Jordans (the Nike shoes with the LARGE check) that would be best =]
Reply:What you can do -depending on your budet of course- is get shoes you like the look of.

Then, go to a high-end sports store that sells running shoes. They'll have you run on a treadmill and will be able to tell you what kind of insoles you should get for your specific way of walking and running. I 'supinate' a lot, which means that when I walk my feet roll out to the side too much. So I have insoles with a lot of heel support and side support. I now stand up straighter and my back isn't sore very much, because I have the right support.
Reply:Lacoste shoes, they are especially attractive too.
Reply:reebok, i got a great pair which looks awesome but is very comfortable and it has this squishy thing in it. It's awesome
Reply:Nike, or ASICS if your running, ASICS are really good!

no, you can use the Sport Kit with any shoe. You can buy a clip that puts it on top of the laces, or you can improvise and attach it.
Reply:i read in the apple forums that since the nike shoes are designed for the "NISK" (too lazy to type it).. and they will register every step taken. while any other ways would only register half or only some of the steps taken. i have also heard people carving holes in their shoes to fit the reciever.

the nisk shoes are sold at Foot Locker and probably every major shoe store..
Reply:A quick look of a page on Wikipedia says it's possible with other shoes but you need some pouch that ties with the laces and I don't know how you'd get that.

Quick - track runners, where can I find cheap preformance shoes?

I start track in about a week. This is my first time running, so I don't know much about the sport. What cheap brand of shoes would you recommend that offer high preformace? Or, what brand would you recommend over all? Is Puma a good brand?

Quick - track runners, where can I find cheap preformance shoes?
i go to dick's sporting goods and look on the racks that have cheap shoes. thats where i got mine
Reply:i would say nike, thats where i got mine last yr, but this yr imi going to adidas, soo its really just ur preference. they have good nike shoes that arent too expensive 50-70 bucks ...... adidas are about the same prices, but just get shoes designed for running, and make sure they are comfy and also run around the store. it helps to see how it will feel when u are running. hope i helped a lil!

Running shoes, cross country shoes?

I was looking at the Zoom Miller XC, the GHAC XCs and Nike Free trainer 7.0s (These are all nike). I was going to start running again and I was looking into various shoes.

1. I was going to get a pair of Megabounce + from adidas or Nike 360s for long distant running on concrete. (%26lt;10 miles)

2. I like the zoom millers because nike says: " a science of tread design that lends traction on grass snow mud and loose terrain. " These are cross country shoes so I thought they would be useful to have as multipurpose because of the tread on the bottom is rubber but not spikes - I wanted a shoe that would be less inclined to get saturated with dirt like typical running shoes with their cloth lininig; I also wanted a shoe I could play a few casual sports games in- (its a little funny showing up to a game with cleats when it was only going to be light).

People say you can wear any shoe for whatever purpose; but I was trying to specialise the shoes I would to wear.

Running shoes, cross country shoes?
Don't get too hung up on marketing. Nike is very good at it, yet if you look at people running down the street, you see few Nikes on runners feet.

You also don't need to overthink specialized shoes for cross country. Every cross-country course I ran in high school or college was rarely worse more than a smooth dirt fire road. There is nothing wrong with specializing, but do focus on fit and comfort.

Most conventional running shoes will suit your purposes. I like to buy 2 pairs at a time, and alternate or dedicate one for the dirty stuff.

The best advice any of us can offer, is go to a running shoe store, and let them 1) measure your feet, and 2) watch you run. It is CRITICAL to find a shoe that suits your tendencies. If you need stability control, or have high arches, flat feet, pronate, supinate, whatever, you will perform MUCH better in the right shoes and stay injury free.

I can't wear Nike, and never have been able to. I'm an Asics and New Balance guy exclusively. Adidas has come a long way...

Good luck, and welcome back to the road...
Reply:What the guy above me said about marketing has a lot of merit. Do not be decieved by Nike's multi-million dollar advertising campaigns!

My advice- go to a local running shop and ask them to help you out. I'm not talking about some big chain like Big 5 or Foot Locker. Avoid these places. Go to locally owned shops and you are basically sure to find some people with a wealth of knowledge on running shoes!

It may seem strange because most of your life you've probably been exposed to the brands like Nike and Adidas, but as far as running shoes go, they really aren't that great. They've got some nice shoes, but those guys are to obsessed with being flashy. I am personally partial to Mizuno- I think they make excellent shoes for the money put down.
Reply:I have Nike Free 5.0 for flat surfaces
Reply:It looks like you've done your homework already! I love my Asics and run in them in whatever condition- if it's super muddy, you're going to get muddy. i do agree with you however that having some trail runners will help; I used to own a pair of Nike Trail Blazers (I believe that's what they were called, its been some time now) that I wore when I ran 'real' cross country- on trails in the woods when it was wet, slippery, etc. They had enough traction and didn't seem to hold onto the mud as much. If they're comfortable, I'd say go for it. It does help to have a pair like that because running in spikes is something I only do for races- flat road runners or spikes.

As far as running strickly on the road- like I said, I have a pair of Asics that I love because they are so comfortable, have great cushion and I have never needed to break them in. I went on a long run right away when they were new and had no problems whatsoever. They are a great neutral shoe that aren't narrow, give great support and have a long mileage life as far as I've found.

I hope this helps!!

Can I where brown shoes with a black sport coat?

For the most "formal" situations, you'd want to wear black shoes and belt with your black sport coat. However, to notch the formality down a bit, the brown shoes would work; combine them with khaki pants or fitted jeans, and you'd have a cool casual setup. A further step in the casual direction would be to ditch the "shoe/belt must match" rule and instead use a web belt or similar belt. For a very eurotrash casual look, add sneakers instead of the brown shoes; try some retro Pumas or similar designs from Skechers and others.

where can i get water shoes at target walmart academy or sports autharity

If you know what is water shoes than you can answer this?
yep. i got mine at walmart.

try to find the lightest one's.

its also good if they are a tighter-rather than getting them loose. The water tends to stretch everything out.

Also, the feeling of one slipping off sucks, cuz then you have to swim all awkardly with your toes pointing up, lol.

Also, get the ones with straps, (like where you adjust its tightness)

Not the ones where you just slip on...i haven't had any luck with those.

Best shoes (mens) for any occasion?

Whats the best style of shoe, that will go with any clothes and any occasion (sports excluded)?

Oxfords:- no, too formal.

Boat shoes:- no, my boss wears them.

Chelsea boots:- trousers get caught on them.

Best shoes (mens) for any occasion?
you can get nice brown/black leather slip ons from places like schuh, or schuh.com (I think) that look great with jeans or trousers.
Reply:Black Leather slip on casuals - well polished - goes with most things.
Reply:You sound like you're either a victim of fashion or a woman. Just wear a pair that are comfortable for you and dress 'up' accordingly. There's no point in wearing shoes that rub and give your feet blisters just so you look good.

What type of Shoes do you always gotta have?
I have to agree with you. Air Force 1 are so comfortable and they last forever. I have them in all black and I think they look really nice. Back in the day I used to like the Nike up tempos those where the ones that had are bubbles across the whole shoe sole. I have come to the conclusion that the best sneakers are the ones for basketball and next I like runnung shoes like the pumas or the Nike shox. Like I said before I like basketbal shoes and I like to watch basketball and I occasionally shoot some hoops with my hubby. Now, whats wrong with that?

Are low cut black sport socks with shorts and black shoes fashionably acceptable for kids?

White socks just do not look right when they are worn with black shoes, shorts and a dark shirt. What do you think? My husband thinks not.

Are low cut black sport socks with shorts and black shoes fashionably acceptable for kids?
Yes. My son wears that. Actually white is fine, too.
Reply:very little kids.
Reply:Dark socks are best with dress shoes and clothing for boys. For all other attire white socks are fine even with dark shoes and clothing.
Reply:I think you should let your kid decide what they feel comfortable in, not what you think is right...let them create their own identity...
Reply:Actually, until this year, my son had to wear uniforms to school and he refuses to wear anything but white socks. I think the kids all looked cute with their black shoes and white socks (they had to wear navy or khaki shorts, and white, light blue, or navy shirts).

The only way to know what's acceptable is to let him wear it, if the kids give him a hard time, he won't want to wear it anymore.
Reply:keep the socks very low. as a matter of fact, they now make "not socks" which are completely unseen. these look the best with shorts, but i don't know what type of shoes your son is wearing so it's hard to say. i think the best thing is to let your son make the decision. he is more aware of what other kids are wearing and he is old enough to make this type of decision.

Why does everyone wear skater shoes?

Why do people wear skater shoes like dcs and vans, and those ugly converse shoes that go up your shins?

Almost everyone wears skater shoes besides my friends (they wear sports and athletics) and people wear these skate shoes when they don't even skateboard?

How do people get sucked in the media and wear the most expensive and keep changing their fashion. Why is this???

Why does everyone wear skater shoes?
I wear them because the comfortable and have better grip (I skateboard). Teen girls wear them becase they think it makes them look cool but it just makes them look like POSERS!
Reply:Some of them are actually skaters like me.
Reply:because they're a bunch of posers. i hate these sort of people who don't skate but want to appear that they do.
Reply:Convers are awesome shoes, no matter what style,., they were first worn as basket ball shoes and it's just know that people made them punky

and stuff.

Vans are great shoes if you like to skate board..

every one has there own style..

learn to deal with that..

it's not about media.

people just over do there look..
Reply:You know that converse aren't even "skater" shoes. They were originally basketball shoes. People (me included) wear them because most of the time they like how they look and aren't just trying to be some mindless drone who wants to "fit in." If you think they are so ugly, fine don't wear them.

As for the question about the media...well its the media. They feed on the people who will easily follow whats "cool" for the sake of "fashion."
Reply:Its fashionable, trendy, its comfortable, stocked up in teenager stores, and yeah its a fad. Like the (forgot name) but comes from bronx old fashion basketball shoes. Its all over Taiwan in the cities. Very fashionable.
Reply:i wear vans.

the reason being cause there comfy and i hate sneakers .

i dont skate but big deal

vans are no more expencive than nike or w/e your friends wear.

people are differnt and they have differnt taste.
Reply:i hate the original skate shoes, but i loooovvvee converse,, i have extra high tops and live in them,,

people wear them because they r in fashion. it is the normal thing to conform to those around you ;]
Reply:they jus wanna fit in and be cool.. wen really there jus being turned into mindless drones that lookalike =)
Reply:holy cow.

my daughters boyfriend, who i dislike, wears those.. i think.

its just a trend.

my daughter likes "skater boys" so she wants to impress them too, so she asks me over and over for those piece of scat shoes.

if you was to light your money on fire and but those stupid unfashionable shoes, be my guest.

but, to answer this question, its a stupif popularity contest.

they are not too comfy looking, and the tongues on the shoes are too puffy and big.

arent those shoes for skateboarding?

not for school?

i dont know any schools you can skateboard in math 101.

stupid trends.
Reply:Some people may just do it to fit in but I think most people who wear them just like them. Everyone has an individual style that is different from others so just because you don't like them doesn't mean someone else can't- it all depends on the person's opinion. I don't wear them but I think they're cute and I don't think there is a right or wrong when it comes to your clothes because everyone has a unique taste and I think it is all about their preferences. I hope this answers your question! =)
Reply:Because they're comfy. Why does it matter anyways? With every thing that's going on in the world, criticizing other people's styles should be the least of your worries. Complaining about somebody else's style is a waste of time. It's the same as trying to tell you how to dress.
Reply:Ok, why is everyone saying that people that wear skater shoes are posers? They aren't. Why did they make skaters shoes in the first place? Skaters. So clearly they have a reason. I wear them And I skate. Etnies rule. People who hang out with skaters sometimes wear them, too. NOt alot of people wear them at my schoo, so it's not a trend. I think they're cute and comfortable. And don't judge a person by there shoes people. gosh.
Reply:I prefer nike's :)

skater shoes are the worst. Trying sooo hard to be so embaressing it seems.

I like mens dress shoes as well
Reply:first of all, do not insult the chucks, those shoes are classics. and the only reason everyone wears skate shoes is because either they're posers or those sports shoes are just too ugly.

who knows.
Reply:i LOVE my converse. been through everything with me. by the way, converse are not skater shoes. if you want a history lesson, they were the first basketball shoes ever made. and i have never worn a pair of vans because they never have my size, color, and style that i want. good night/morning.

What are the BEST Women's NIKE SHOES for RUNNING???????????????????????...

I've heard bad things about Nike Shox. And I don't know whether I should choose Air of whatever other kind they have. I have an ideal foot shape. Not too flat, and not too much arch.

Which would you suggest?

Are these any good? If you have more suggestions, please tell me the name of the shoe, and I will search it.

http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/Products.as...

What are the BEST Women's NIKE SHOES for RUNNING???????????????????????...
Ideally you should go to a running shop %26amp; have the staff assess what type of foot you have (ie. neutral or overpronating). Or, stand with your feet about shoulder width apart %26amp; keeping your feet flat on the floor band your knees (get a friend to look). If your arches collapse when you do this, go for a pronation shoe; if not, neutral.

A few shoes are listed below

Neutral shoes:

Nike Pegasus (v. popular shoe)

Nike Percept (similar but more cushioning)

Nike Zoom Marathoner or Nike Mayfly (lightweight racing shoes)

Overpronation shoes:

Nike Perseus (overpronation version of pegasus)

Nike Air Structure Triax

As for Nike Shox, they look good but theyre basically a fashion shoe %26amp; far from ideal for a runner.
Reply:I would suggest go to any sneaker store not jcpenny. Basically any Nike Shox is good for running..Also Nike Air max is excellent for running. Also New Balance is good too. Click on this link and it has a variety of sneakers which is good for running. Make sure u get something that is good for running which will support you and is comfortable. Nike Shox and Air max is very comfortable. Also i would suggest looking at other stores to compare prices n to get a good deal. such as websites drjays.com and footaction.com etc

Have u ever played sports (soccer, ultimate Frisbee, etc.) barefoot & shirtless to show you were rugged?

Do girls think it is sexy or macho when guys play sports in the park without their shoes or shirts on?

Have u ever played sports (soccer, ultimate Frisbee, etc.) barefoot %26amp; shirtless to show you were rugged?
Back in college in the quad. If you wanted to show off for the little sisters of the fraternity, playing Frisbee barefoot and without a shirt was a given. If it was too cool to take our shirts off, we still kicked off our shoes and played barefoot in sweatshirts and jeans. Being able to run around barefoot definitely shows you are tough enough!

ok here goes the view of a celtic fan on a rangers game

"could the ref have been any more biased towards the huns,I wonder how much they paid him this week.As usual the opposing team were cheated out of a decent result against a team that plays anti-football"

the view of a rangers fan on a celtic game

"well as usual the tims dived, cheated and fouled their way to another victory in the 92nd minute.Am sure you saw the ref with his hoops top underneath his own"

and you know both articles are bound to include either

"that was a clear cut penalty"

for whoever is playing against either rangers or celtic

or

"that was never a penalty,is the ref blind"

for either rangers or celtic

see as fans could you honestly imagine writing an honest report for the opposing team without being slightly blinded by your loyalty to your team and your hatred for your rivals.

New Sneakers Basketball Tennis shoes....How do we get rid of the odor?

We paid over $130 for a pair of basketball shoes for our son and now that bball season is over he wants to wear them for everyday use which would be fine except he never aired them out during bball season. He left them zipped up in his sports bag and now his tennis shoes have a horrible odor. We have tried odor eater spray, baking soda, odor eater insoles and bounce dryer sheets. The dryer sheets did seem to work the best but by the end of the day the smell was coming back. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.....please no suggestions to throw them out, they are expensive shoes and new, have never been worn outside. Thanks!

New Sneakers Basketball Tennis shoes....How do we get rid of the odor?
Wash them in the washing machine. I used to do this with all of our tennis shoes. Don't dry them though as they tend to get the leather too dried out.
Reply:Charcoal is good for removing odors, but you'd have to be careful about how you use it, otherwise you'll get charcoal dust in the shoes. Each time after he wears them, crunch up a few pages of the newspaper and stuff them in, that will get rid of moisture in them from being worn. You maybe could replace the insoles, that might be where the odor is coming from and by replacing them you get rid of the source. And don't let him wear them every day, give them at least a day in between to air out. Good luck!
Reply:Air them outside for a week. Then spray an entire can of axe into the shoes. It will smell of axe for QUITE some time which may or may not be a good thing.... but at least it's better than foot odour right?
Reply:Sun is the best odor eliminator. After cleaning them thoroughly with tide detergent and color bleach in gentle wash cycle setting, crisp dry them in sun. It will take few days but will be odor free.
Reply:baby powder your feet and the shoes every time you use them

Difference between normal nike shoes and nike air shoes?

i'm looking for shoes that will help me play good in sports, i prefer going for nike shoes but when im searching around i see there's nike shoes and nike air shoes, so i dont know what's the difference, like what does the air help to do?

Difference between normal nike shoes and nike air shoes?
it's not the shoes that make you play better. it doesn't help anything, it just looks cooler. i prefer high top basketball shoes for almost all outdoor sports except sports that i need cleats for. high top basketball shoes are great because they have good texture on the bottom and the high top keeps you from rolling your ankle which is something i do a lot.
Reply:One has "Air" in the title.

Seriously, teh "Air" word originally came during the Chicago Bulls era with Micheal Jordan, who came out with "Air Jordans". Now that Micheal isn't really in the news much, they shortened it to "Air".

All about labels and making money. They quality is the same.

Which one is better in sport performance for women shoes, Nike or RbK/reebok?

It depends. The cheap reeboks suck.. same wit nike. but if i were you i would go with Reebok. comfy long lasting

Which one is better in sport performance for women shoes, Nike or RbK/reebok?
nike
Reply:def. nike...because reboks tend to be more bulky and wider souls. so if you have wide big feet go for the reboks. well i dont really think reboks are good at all..they are just cheap and tacky . so def. go with nike ...xDDDD

Difference between a leather and sports type of golf shoe?

The difference between the two shoes are that the leather shoes are primarly like dress shoes that you can wear with nice slacks but not shorts... these shoes are better when it comes to the water not seeping through the shoe...

The sports shoes are for those who preffer the light but comfortable almost like running shoe look. these are great but your feet get wet quicker...

Difference between a leather and sports type of golf shoe?
the comfort level and the waterproof level. Leather golf shoes do not or are not supposed to allow water into the shoe, thus keeping your feet dry. Sneakers are comfortable but they are not very good when playing on a wet course or a course with dew in the morning. Leather shoes are also comfortable if you buy the right pair.

Is it OK (and safe) to buy used footwear such as sport sandals, sneakers and boat shoes?

I would like to know if it is safe to buy used foot wear such as athletic sandals, boat shoes, and sneakers etc. My mother don't like me buying used footwear half the time.

Is it OK (and safe) to buy used footwear such as sport sandals, sneakers and boat shoes?
If you happen to know the previous owner and have made sure that he or she didint suffer from any foot disease, go ahead, you may do so. Otherwise, no. Too risky. You wouldn't stick your footsies into the shoes of someone who has athletes' foot, would you?
Reply:Use a spray bottle with water a bleach and give them a mist and let them dry. That should kill anything that might would harm you (athlete's foot etc).
Reply:Ewwww.
Reply:I'd listen to your mother. You could get some nasty athletes foot or worse.
Reply:That is so wrong and gross. The germs. The smell. I would not want to put my feet where some one elses feet where.

Who would be in favor for playing a sport barefoot that requires shoes?

If so,What sport?

i gues beach volley is exception :P ahah!

well i played soccer in bare feet sometimes, but just with friends!
Reply:i wouldnt recommend it....o.0

i tryed playin soccer barefoot and my toe hurted so bad....o.0

when i kicked the ball, my toe went backwards(my friend kicked it so hard o.0)
Reply:no, I'm not in favor of barefoot anything hardley
Reply:YEs
Reply:I grapple in bare feet. Does that count?
Reply:Well the only sport I have not played in bare feet is gridiron back in high school but that was only for official games. Training and fun games I did barefoot because it was a lot more fun.

Not many of the sport I play now requires shoes to play, if it did I would not play it because I play all sport barefoot (basketball, parkour, croquet, softball, kendo) all but kendo and parkour are just for fun though and not official die hard sport. In my opinion playing sport in shoes would make me not enjoy it as much, bare feet make it fun and enjoyable.
Reply:Ouch no, can hurt your toes and damage your nails.
Reply:no
Reply:I do and have played football and softball without shoes. Of course this is on a nonprofessional level.

Peace.
Reply:Depends on the playing surface, weather, and level of play.

A casual game of volleyball, frisbee, soccer, croquet, badminton, touch football, or even softball is fine - especially in the summer and on a nice lawn.

It's better if others (or everyone) decides to go barefoot too. It would suck playing volleyball barefoot if your teammates were wearing sneakers and stepped on you by accident.

I love playing volleyball, touch football and frisbee barefoot. I find that after shedding footwear others usually follow. Lots of people love to play barefoot in the grass on a hot day -- feels so good!
Reply:mmm i wouldnt u could get hurt i would barely be in favor if its volleyball in the beach
Reply:I'm not much into sports except for hiking and sometimes a bit of running, which don't require shoes (although most people would think it does).

Which of these two types of running shoes would be better for my foot type?

I am a cross country %26amp; track runner (so i run long distances)

the arches of my feet are REALLY low (my feet are pretty flat) %26amp; my low arches also cause my feet to turn inward when i run, which, in turn, gives me shin splints.

so, i know i need a motion control shoe.

i went to one sports store, where i was told that good shoes for me would be Asics Gel Nimbus VIII. THen, i went to another store where i was told that the best shoes for me would be Asics GT-2120.

The Asics GT-2120 have a piece of dark grey material near where the arch is (the rest of the sole is white), which, the guy in the store told me, means that the material in the arch is stronger than the rest of the sole, so it will prevent my foot from turning inward. he said unless a shoe has that grey piece near the arch, it will not be good for my foot type/running style.

The Asics Gel Nimbus VIII do not have this grey patch, however i was told at the other store that they would provide arch support

Which of these two types of running shoes would be better for my foot type?
The Nimbus is a motion control shoe (see link #1), but the GT-2120 is a stability shoe (see link #2). I'm not sure why anyone would recommend the GT-2120 for someone with low arches.. The GT-2120 is a great shoe -- just not for you.

The "dark gray material" is probably the "Space Trusstic System", which is supposed to provide arch support, but it is found on both shoes. It just may look differently on the Nimbus or perhaps it is a different color. I cannot recall exactly what it looks like, but I am 100% certain that it is there.

Between the two, you should definitely go with the Nimbus. You should also keep in mind that the Nimbus is made for someone with a larger frame, which is why it is a little heavier (for extra support). If you want a lighter shoe, you should look at the Cumulus (also motion control), which is nearly identical except that it has less cushion because it is made for someone with a small to medium frame.

Good luck finding your perfect shoes~!
Reply:You gotta try on the shoes and run in them at least inside the store Maya. How else you gonna know? But about the shin splints,...

Shin splints are caused by muscle imbalance. Calf strong, shin weak. The way to correct this is to strengthen the muscles at the front of the legs. Lie face down in bed with your toes hanging over the edge. Pull your toes upward against the resistance of the mattress. Try to work up to 3 or 4 sets of 5 – 10 reps each. Good Luck
Reply:I'm no expert on shoes but my feet turn inward too and Asics are what I wear. I went to Fleet Feet where they had me try on several different pairs of shoes and then, they watched me run in each pair.

Some shoes supponate, others pronate, and some are linear. The other stuff is just extra that you'll have to figure out for yourself through trial and error.

Black coat? you need black shoes
Reply:Black. Since you are wearing a black sport coat you should coordinate your accessories, as well as shoes. Black coat, black belt and black shoes. Try to always keep browns with browns and blacks with blacks. Khaki goes with either. Good luck and have a blast!!!

Reply:Yeah, but leave the shirt untucked. I have a friend who does that. He wears like a fitted T Shirt from like abercrombie and fitch or american eagle. The soft cotton kind. Wear fitted bootcut jeans w/it. Just LEAVE THE SHIRT UNTUCKED!!! or you'll look like you're a stodgy old geezer who doesn't know how to dress. Also don't let the tshirt be "busy" if you know what I mean. Once solid color w/one graphic design or not alot of wording.
Reply:DUDE you look like a F A G!!

So you do not have to be concerned about HOW you dress ( or UNDER-dress ) unless of course you are going to be visiting a very conservative sort of place - or people!

Do YOU use turf shoes?

Hey, i play field hockey and lacrosse and play on an astroturf field. I have played for awhile and every season suffer from shin splints. Everyone on my team uses cleats or sneakers. The cleats for me hurt my ankle and the sneakers are alright but hurt my shins. My mom played both sports and recommend getting turf shoes. Does anyone use them? What are they used to help with. Do they help support you on the hard turf and grip it? Thanks! any comments are welcome.

Do YOU use turf shoes?
shin splints probably are caused by the shoes. i get them and it is terrible, especially because i run a lot and play lots of sports, what helps me is when you run lands on your heals more, like trying to run quietly. try this on pavement. run down the street or something as quietly as possible landing on your heals first and for lack of a better word, rolling in. and also put Dr.sholes gel heal insoles in your should, that should help.

Is it ok to be a guy and not be into any sports whatsoever? My cousins/bros all made fun of me on christmas?

Ok, well christmas is always exciting for me because a bunch of my cousins visit and everyone comes over, but Christmas wasn't as exciting for me this year. Many of my cousins and bros got sports-related stuff (games, jerseys, shoes, caps, baseballs mits and sports balls) I guess, there all supposed to be "cool"! Rolls eyes. My uncle were asking me about sports and I couldn't answer it, and then my girl cousin interjects and answers it, "Oh, oh he got me the one guy's jersey and new video game!" It was apparently an obvious sports question according to them and they were all in shock at how I didn't know but that my 11 year old girl cousin knew. Then my grandfather asked my mom 'why didn't u get Andy any sports clothes and stuff?" my mom said "Andy doesn't know anything about sports. He likes animals and National Geographic videos." It's true but sooo humiliating. I was happy to get my cheetah videos, but all my guy cousins and older bros made fun of me. "Wow," my aunt looked shocked

Is it ok to be a guy and not be into any sports whatsoever? My cousins/bros all made fun of me on christmas?
It is absolutely fine to be a guy and not be into sports. In fact, I think it is fantastic that you are more interested in a cheetah video than some silly sports.

You didn't mention your age, and it is harder at some ages than others to not fit in, but ultimately being your own person and following your own interests will be the most rewarding.

With your interests in animals, you might end up being a biologist, a naturalist, a zoologist or something fantastic like that!

I think being interested in animals is incredible!
Reply:there is nothing wrong with you. some people don't like sports and there is nothing wrong with that. each to his own. Good luck.
Reply:lol man its ok take it easy

i think one day you will be laughing at them !
Reply:Yes, it is okay not to be into sports but don't be a softy just because you aren't into sports. The friends I have that aren't into sports physically are softies and quite often act like sissies too. So, even though you aren't into sports, make sure to stay strong and fit so that you don't feel like you are on the outside looking in at the real men.
Reply:You need a self identity. If you have one.. then you need to have one.

You have permission to be yourself. If you are a little bit of a biology nerd it doesn't mean that anyone has the right to cut off your penis.

In 10 years when you have a college scholarship and they have football injuries they will be a little jealous. In 20 years when you have a good degree, a solid career, a great family and a stable lifestyle but they work in sales and don't.. they will look at you as a man and will "consider their manhoods cheap".

Fight the good fight. Keep your head down, keep your nose in the books, and don't be afraid to be your curious, smart, intelligent self.
Reply:When you are a biologist (or whatever) and they are selling insurance or used cars, you'll have the last laugh.....
