What is the best brand of shoes for Nurses and others who work long shifts standing up?

I%26#039;m not a nurse, but I work long shifts which are ruining my feet! I heard that nurses%26#039; shoes have good cushioning, so I%26#039;m looking for recommendations for the next pair I will purchase. What brands and models do you like, and why? I find that sport shoes like Nike are not cushioned enough any more, even with gel inserts, probably due to my many hours of walking on hard floors!

Whatever you choose, make sure it fits the arch of YOUR foot. New Balance does not work for me. I have a high arch and I have tried all the brand names for nurses.....REBOC works for me because it fits my arch like a glove. Just go and try everything on and choose what feels best. Good Luck.
Reply:I sell shoes online and these are what my customers from all over the world think are the most comfortable shoes: Dansko, Crocs, UGGs, or New Balance. If you want to check out more, please visit my store: http://stores.ebay.com/Pink-Pe... Report It

Reply:Rockport or New Balance
Reply:Nursemates or Crocs, best I%26#039;ve used and I stand on my feet all day long...dental assistant.
Reply:SAS or easy spirits are a good shoe.
Reply:honestly for as light as they are Crocs really are pretty great for long hours on concrete floors. i also like Danskos but just the Cabrio Professional, not really the other styles. If you want a running shoe, I find New Balance to be the best. They come in different widths so you can usually find something best suited for you. But Crocs are awesome and come in great colours!
Reply:i work in trauma icu so i feel your pain when it comes to working long hours on your feet!!

i swear by New Balance. they are the most comfortable and durable shoes and they aren%26#039;t expensive either!! check sears or famous footwear-they have them on sale alot.

i%26#039;ve only had to replace mine twice and that was due to them getting too dirty to wear to work anymore-not b/c they hurt or they were falling apart.

crocs work great too but i sometimes feel that these are too thin on the bottom of my feet-but they are comfortable
Reply:I wear rubber shoes like K-Swiss, very comfortable. Never developed callus or anything down there. I use them for my 12 hours shift a day. That%26#039;s all I can say.
Reply:New Balance are very comfortable and a lot of Nurses wear them
Reply:Birkenstocks...they are the only way to fly. they can be quite expensive but money well spent. You should also find yourself a quality pair of support stockings...you will need to get medical grade. If you alternate every other night wearing the stockings, you will find that your legs and feet will be less fatigued. They are also good for the long term health of your legs (circulation).

Good Luck!!
