Why do men want to wear another men's sports jersey?

why do we see men wearing nba/nfl jersey withe other%26#039;s name at the back? if they are sports fan maybe they%26#039;ll just settle for jerseys that have their fave team logo on it or AT MOST the number of their fave player (not the NAME).

Its all about he culture of sports now. Ilive in Tallahassee Florida which is a colleget town , Nike comes out with only the number one for the jersy%26#039;s in the store. If you want a jersy of a player with another number you need their permission to get it legally and their only aloud five a year. The nfl only comes out with certain players by Reebok per year so if you want a jersy from you team unless you want to pay extra for it its probably gonna have their marque players name on the back. unlike college 75% of nfl fans have jerseys ,I saw the steeler nation play the jaguars last year and almost every fam in there had a jersy on. some had old school players like franco harris and terry bradshaw a show of respect and a old school mentality, some had o-lineman, and new school rosthlisberger jersey%26#039;s . I guess to answer your question , it%26#039;s more a sign of support. The same reason we have these GW bumper stickers and these F the president bumper stickers. makes figuring out what to wear to the game easier too. Jeans and a jersey. i personally own four but they are all signed and in plaques in my home .

Reply:Some guys out there do not have a favorite team, but they follow certain players. Or, they do have a team of thier own, but are fans of certain players that may not be on their own team. Besides, most jerseys you find are replicas of a player. I am a fan of wearing a hat and a hoody of your team and thats it, good question.
